Principal Mechanical Engineer / Australia

A Global Minerials Processing Consultancy who is seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the expanding team in Brisbane. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will oversee and ensure the efficient coordination and production of design outputs aligned with project and study requirements.
 
The leadership aspect of this role is of high importance and to be successful you will need proven experience and strong interest in mentorship of more junior engineers.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate technical aspects across disciplines.
• Guide and review engineering designs, including calculations and development.
• Provide professional support to the drafting team.
• Approve and assist in delivering accurate engineering lists, encompassing equipment, lubrication, spares, valves, pipelines, and special items.
• Mentor engineers-in-training and identify avenues for their professional development.

 
Required Expertise:

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years of post-graduate experience in mineral processing or related industries
• CP Eng and RPEQ qualifications are preferred.
• Ability to effectively manage multi-disciplinary teams.
• Natural leadership abilities with a knack for initiating, leading, and managing change in complex environments.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required to meet business needs.
