We have a new opportunity for a Weight Control Engineer on a contract basis for a major Oil and Gas client. The position will be based in both Doha, Qatar and Korea.

Job Title: Weight Control Engineer

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure Engineering Dossiers are delivered with robust Weight control engineering definitions and fit-for-purpose designs, meeting safety standards and project requirements.
  • Manage project tasks in accordance with execution plans and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project Weight control discipline documents, identifying potential optimizations and challenges.
  • Support project studies and meetings related to Weight control discipline.
  • Assist with weight control management of packages and identify potential risks and opportunities.

JOB DIMENSIONS

  • Work on projects spanning 6 years with significant CAPEX investment.
  • Projects include new platforms, modifications, pipelines, and facilities.
  • Permanently based in EPCIC CTR premises (Korea) during project execution stages.

ACTIVITIES

  • Ensure compliance with standards and specifications in Weight control design.
  • Monitor weight and center of gravity, reporting regularly to package to manage contingencies.
  • Review project documents and challenge designs for optimization.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and contractors for weight monitoring and control.
  • Support fabrication and construction engineering processes.
  • Attend project meetings and assist in progress reporting.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Work on greenfield and brownfield projects across international sites.
  • Engage in complex interfaces with various entities within company
  • Possibility of worldwide missions or relocations for project follow-up.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Engineering degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Previous experience as a Weight Control Engineer in Oil and Gas industry.
  • Computer literate with structural calculation software proficiency.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with industry specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work in a complex, multicultural environment.
