Senior Piping Designer / UAE

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Piping Designer on a contract basis. The position will be based in Dubai on a yearly renewable contract.

Position: Senior Piping Designer

Department: Engineering

Reporting To: Lead Piping Designer

Job Purpose: The Senior Piping Designer will play a crucial role in supporting the Lead Piping Designer within our department. The incumbent will contribute to the implementation of engineering projects and provide day-to-day operational support to meet project, maintenance, and production team schedules.

Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities):

1. Develop detailed engineering deliverables for all in-house brownfield and greenfield projects.
2. Act as a mentor to less experienced design and engineering personnel within the discipline.
3. Participate in project meetings, identifying and communicating scope changes promptly to responsible Discipline Engineers.
4. Provide assistance to Construction and Operation personnel regarding drawing retrieval, design interpretation, and drawing queries.
5. Conduct travel to offshore and onshore plants for survey data and dimensional checks.
6. Interpret vendor documentation and data to integrate into design packages.
7. Adhere to company procedures on drawing drafting, issuing, filing, and as-building.
8. Review all completed designs and drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards, specifications, and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Job Related Competencies:

Educational Qualifications:

• Diploma or Certificate in Engineering or Equivalent.

Experience Profile:

• Strong design/engineering experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Proficiency in various piping and layout design activities, including 3D model layout procedures, maintenance and operability considerations in plant layout, pipe stress analysis, identification of hazardous areas, and constructability awareness.

Competencies/Skills/Others:

• Proficient in piping design/drafting deliverable creation, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), Piping General Arrangements, Equipment Layouts, Piping Isometrics, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Brownfield design.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting company and departmental objectives.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D AutoCAD Software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Effective collaboration within a multi-cultural team.
