A Tier 1 mining client to hire an integral position within their projects team. This contract is an initial 9-month maternity cover, leaving the right candidate the opportunity to jump into the middle of a multi-billion dollar mine expansion project. This mine expansion will include growth across 4 different mines, crusher upgrades, power distributions, reviewing of designs and many risk assessments.
 
This role really requires someone to jump in headfirst and get up and run pretty quickly. Having previous experience in mining specifically across Iron Ore is essential. This will be a faced-up role, providing an exciting challenge to the right candidate.
 
Your role

• Contribute insights on scoping tasks and framing project deliverables.
• Assess project outcomes within the designated timeline.
• Assist in managing requests for information (RFIs).
• Effectively communicate Company design standards.
• Engage in safety initiatives within the design process.
• Contribute to activities aimed at maximizing project value.
• Actively engage in various design review sessions (Design review, HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, etc.).
• Evaluate project scope and suggest customized engineering management approaches based on risk assessment.
• Proactively identify project risks and potential opportunities for exploration.
• Contribute to updates of Company standards.
• Support initiatives related to Engineering Information Management (EIM).

 
About you

• Bachelors or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• TUV Functional Safety Engineer certified (desirable).
• Previous mining experience in Iron Ore.
• Experience in Project roles across engineering, construction, and commissioning.
• Electrical engineering experience across power distribution, industrial motor control, instrumentation, and process control systems
• Previous experience in an operational site-based role.
