Role synopsis
This Senior PE position is a dynamic role, a key part of an integrated team delivering the Reservoir Operating Plan for the Field. Water injection, including produced water re-injection (PWRI), underpins the reservoir recovery. Seven cluster-pump stations (CPSs) and one of five planned PWRI facilities currently deliver and inject 1.7 MMbbls/day, which will rise to over 4 MM bbls/day. This role is set to be at the heart of delivering these plans and requires a high-calibre professional with good experience.
This is a 28/28 rotational position working in Iraq providing technical leadership to a team of 20 engineers in the subsurface team. The Senior Petroleum Engineer is responsible for delegating work, coaching, and training the team members. This team will grow as the wellstock and job complexity increases.
The team are responsible for base management activities, including monitoring well and reservoir performance, integrating with the Reservoir Management Team plus proposing and developing rig and rigless intervention activities to maintain well capacity. Integration with the Operations Team forms a vital interface and occasional field visits will be required to manage these relationships.
Key accountabilities
? Providing petroleum engineering/wells training, delegation and coaching to the national Engineers in the BM team. Constantly monitor development and provide support for the junior team members. Keep the team on track with a development plan.
? Review rig/rigless SORs for proposed wellwork activity.
? Supervise the modelling of the wells and facilities in PetEx Prosper & GAP software.
? Utilise digitization of data and automation with good PowerBI skills.
? Follow daily progress of activity and communicate any issues as appropriate.
? Contribute to the Base management multi-disciplinary well / panel reviews.
? Interact with Operations team to prioritise and optimise wells.
Essential Education
? Strong mentoring, team development and coaching skills.
? Ability to remain calm, organised and lead the team under pressure.
? Experience of well interventions (coiled tubing, stimulation, eline) and well inflow and injection performance
? Experience using PETEX Prosper and GAP software.
Other essential skills and knowledge
? Experience on Production and Injection Well Management, Well & System Performance, Short term Production / Injection Optimisation.
? Waterflood experience
Desirable criteria & qualifications
? ESP experience
? Experience of working within a multicultural environment
? Experience of Waterflood and Wellwork opportunity generation and progression in a high volume activity environment.
? Anticipates future situations and plans ahead to meet them
