Position Overview:
Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Commercial Manager heads the Group’s Commercial and Procurement function overseeing all contracts / projects across multiple industries (building, civil, mechanical, manufacturing). As the Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring profitability and driving growth opportunities for the Group in one of the most relaxed Gulf States.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all Group commercial issues in line with business expectations.
- Oversee monthly applications / invoicing process with clients through to payments.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to commercial and purchase staff.
- Able to handle Contract Administration issues with regards to contractual arguments and claims.
- Identification of variations and compiling entitlement submissions.
- Ensures that all contractual notices are issued as required by the contract.
- Able to introduce and implement cost controls and planning techniques.
- Work closely with General Managers, Project Directors and commercial staff on sites
- Assist the business with tenders/contract management services.
- Strategic and operational management of procurement function to support single / multiple group divisions.
- Leads the Procurement team introduces and implements best procurement practices.
- Develop and maintain relationship channels with suppliers, vendors, internal stake holders, and inter-group / joint venture partners, with ability to understand their needs and develop quality procurement strategies and plans accordingly.
- Support the bidding / tendering activities.
- Lead role in supplier contract negotiations, pricing, commercial, competitive structure packages for mega projects / commercial infrastructure and building projects.
- Ability to develop and monitor the Quality Management Systems to ensure efficiency and increased productivity within the teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in a commercial management role within a Tier 1 contractor.
- Middle East experience is advantageous, but not a prerequisite.
- Strategic mindset with a results-oriented approach and a track record of delivering successful outcomes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Excellent negotiations skills with previous client facing experience and
- Strong understanding of commercial, contractual and legal principles, with the ability to manage risk effectively.
