Senior Front End Concept Engineer / Philippines

Our Client

In 2022, our client took over as operator of the major gas field, which fuels 20% of Luzon's  power generation, and has continued the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the this asset. They also has ambitious growth plans to further explore and develop the Philippines’ hydrocarbon resources. Being the most active explorer in the Philippines , they are in the advanced stage of planning to drill two deepwater Exploration wells (USD 100M) and acquire/reprocess state-of-the-art seismic data (USD 15M) within the next two years.


Purpose of this role is to:

o Develop innovative, low cost, notional development concepts for stranded deepwater opportunities
(using proven technologies) based upon global analogues and experience
o To introduce concepts and technologies new to the Company by creating concept archetypes for future
developments away from existing infrastructure (including but not limited to FLNG, FPSO, early
production systems, mini-LNG)
o Opportunity identification and feasibility assessment of late life and/or stranded shallow water oil fields.
Coordinate due diligence on proposals for utilization of third-party infrastructure
o Evaluate the potential for 3rd party tie-ins to existing offshore platform infrastructure (shallow water platform,
gas export pipeline)
o Evaluate and screen farm-in opportunities across multiple Service Contracts, including data room visits,
technical data gathering & analysis, notional development concepts and investment proposals
o Prepare Decision Quality based DRB submissions at Credibility, Value & Invest Decision Gates

Accountabilities:

Main Responsibilities of this role:
• Accountable for quality of front-end engineering technical work and timely & effective technical assurance
• Responsible for timely delivery of notional development concepts and investment proposals
• Front End Development Management - technical integration across subsurface, wells, engineering &
projects

As part of the team/larger community:
• Shape teamwork, culture and behaviour such that safety of operations is in the teams’ hearts and minds
• Manage contractor relationships and behaviours in line with the company values
• Represent the company at JV Technical Committee Meetings and shareholder engagements

Dimensions:
• Number of Staff: Member of an integrated team of 10-15 technical staff.
• Financial accountability: Coordination of delivery from technical consultants (contract value USD 1-2mln)
• External Relationships: Technical partners and consultants; JV Partners, Regulator

Requirements:

• Prior Technical Experience (15+ years)
o Deepwater development concepts for stranded fields (subsea tie backs, FLNG, FPSO, mini-LNG,
unmanned facilities etc…..)
o Notional Field Development Plans (with cost estimates from benchmarking & market investigations)
o Area Development Plans for phased infrastructure development decision making
o Competitive scoping of projects and benchmarking of competitiveness

• Excellent leadership skills
o Multi-disciplinary collaboration with subsurface disciplines, wells, cost estimation & economics and a
strong team player
o Ability to influence without direct accountability for staff or activities

• Effective communicator
o Track record of transparent communication/engagement to decision makers (including shareholders)
o Ability to coach/mentor younger staff

• Commercial Skills
o Established strong relationships with Service Companies and technology providers
o Portfolio Analysis and Decision Making
o Commercial Negotiations for new Business Development
