Onshore Wind - Troubleshooter Technicians / Turkey

Role Summary

Troubleshooter technicians specialize in the electrical operation and maintenance of wind turbines so they can be used to produce wind-powered electricity. Their work involves installing new turbines and performing routine maintenance to ensure the wind turbines are working correctly. These engineers also respond when a wind turbine isn't working properly and are responsible for performing repairs once they determine the cause of the problem.

Essential responsibilities:

• Inspect or repair turbine blades.
• Troubleshoot or repair mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical malfunctions related to variable pitch systems, variable speed control systems, converter systems, or related components.
• Climb wind turbine towers to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Diagnose problems involving wind turbine generators or control systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on wind turbine equipment, underground transmission systems, wind fields substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.
• Start or restart wind turbine generator systems to ensure proper operations.
• Test electrical components of wind systems with devices such as voltage testers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, infrared testers, or fiber optic equipment.
• Test structures, controls, or mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical systems, according to test plans or in coordination with engineers.
• Assist in assembly of individual wind generators or construction of wind farms.
• Collect turbine data for testing or research and analysis.
• Maintain tool and spare parts inventories required for repair, installation, or replacement services.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Professional training in electrical engineering sector (electrician, power electronics system, mechatronics).
• Fluent in Turkish
• Familiar with MS-Office operating system.
• High degree of quality awareness; excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills combined with the ability to detect and remedy faults, defects, problems.
• Team player, cooperative, interested in further development.
• Able to work at heights and high level of physical fitness.
• Structured worker with technical analytic abilities.
• High degree of flexibility, highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
• Willing to work sometimes also at the weekends.
• Strong awareness for quality; Foresight in the identification and elimination of errors
