Job Title: Floating Foundations Fabrication Engineer
Responsibilities:
Structural Fabrication Oversight:
- Manage the fabrication of structural components, ensuring adherence to design specifications and high-quality standards.
Fabrication Process Optimization:
- Develop and optimize fabrication processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate the overall quality of fabricated components.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to source materials, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project requirements.
Quality Control:
- Implement and oversee quality control measures to guarantee compliance with industry standards and project specifications throughout the fabrication process.
Welding and Joining Expertise:
- Provide specialized knowledge in welding and joining techniques, ensuring the integrity of fabricated structures in challenging offshore environments.
Material Selection:
- Work closely with materials engineers to select appropriate materials, considering durability and resistance to harsh marine conditions.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Enforce health and safety protocols within fabrication facilities, ensuring a secure working environment for the fabrication team.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage fabrication budgets and allocate resources efficiently, optimizing costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
Collaboration with Design Teams:
- Collaborate with structural and design engineers to interpret design specifications, ensuring manufacturability and feasibility.
Logistics and Transportation:
- Coordinate logistics for transporting fabricated components to project sites, addressing challenges associated with offshore transportation.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of the fabrication process, including quality assurance records and progress reports.
Problem-solving:
- Address fabrication challenges and resolve issues promptly, working closely with the project management team.
Continuous Improvement:
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on lessons learned from previous projects, enhancing fabrication processes and outcomes.
Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure fabrication processes comply with environmental regulations, promoting sustainable practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional engineering license (if applicable).
- Extensive experience in structural fabrication for offshore projects, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, materials science, and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
