Master - Oil and Gas Operating Company – UAE
We are looking for a Master in Vessel Operations department for an oil and gas Operating Company based in UAE.
Responsibilities:
- The Master has the highest and overriding authority onboard his assigned ship. He has the
responsibility to make any decisions with respect to safety, security and pollution prevention and to request the company's assistance as and when necessary;
- The Master shall ensure all relevant certificates are up to date and that a system is in place to
renew certificates prior to their expiry dates;
- Ensuring seaworthiness of vessel and that all of the systems and equipment on-board are properly maintained and operated and emergency systems and equipment are maintained and ready for use;
- Comply with Class, International Maritime, Flag State rules and regulations;
- Appraisals of personnel are conducted on a regular basis;
- Comply with and promote the Company Management System and cooperate with various projectbrelated departments on board to ensure safety of the vessel and efficient performance of the task;
- Create standing orders for vessel operations in a clear and simple manner is a language understoodbby the crew and supervises implementation;
- Responsible for on board planning of major repairs and dry docks;
- Prepare the yearly Management Review every year in December and forward it to the Technical Ship Manager.
Candidate profile:
- Master’s license STCW II/2;
- Minimum 3 years offshore vessels experience as a Master;
- Minimum 3 years Dynamic Positioning 2 (DP2) or higher experience as Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO) or Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator (SDPO);
- Excellent verbal and written command of the English language;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Highly organized;
- High attention to detail;
- High level of computer literacy; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and Oracle.
