Offshore Substation Package Manager Taiwan / Taipei

The client is a leading offshore wind developer and first- mover in emerging offshore wind markets. They specialize in providing project development and construction management services to offshore wind projects for an international company, a leading renewable infrastructure investment fund with EUR ~16bn under management. Their development activities are growing rapidly with projects in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.

We are looking for an Offshore Substation Package Manager on their behalf, in a new market including design, procurement, construction, transport, installation and commissioning, as well as work in a team that is leading the charge to create a healthier planet. This position will report to the Package Lead in Asia and the Transmission & Electrical Package Manager in Taiwan.

The scope of the package includes topside and foundation, and the responsibility will run through development and execution phases. You will interface with the wider EPC team, especially the offshore cables package, but also their internal development team, external suppliers and authorities.

Your key objectives are:

• Identification of requirements and definition of scope of works
• Prepare roadmap to secure timely certified design, fabrication, transport and installation as well as future cost out of the concept
• Mobilisation and leadership of team and resources
• Drive procurement and ensure timely contracting of packages
• Identify and manage interfaces to other packages
• Manage internal and external engineering and design works
• Ensure compliance with localization obligations applicable standards and certification requirement
• Coordinate and provide support to other functions and packages, e.g. Permitting, Due diligence, and LTA Q/A, and O&M preparation.
• Lead and prepare documentation required for the relevant project stages, decisions, assessments etc
• Ensure high focus and best in class management of health, safety and quality for all involved

To succeed in this role, you have:

• An Engineering degree or similar level education and 10 years of industry experience
• Demonstrated project management experience from executing an offshore substation package or similar asset, and preferably PMP(PMI) qualified
• Strong technical understanding of the scope and associated supply chain
• Strong commercial understanding and contract management/negotiation skills
• Leadership skills with ability to communicate efficiently and effectively
• Able to thrive and develop in an international- and multi-cultural environment.

The role will be based in Taipei and overseas candidates must be prepared to expatriate to Taiwan.
