OVERALL, PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: (Overall role this position performs for the dept, division, Firm)
The SC Data Analyst - Project Support Specialist analyzes data and methods to predict and improve ALAM’s delivery of products and services to its customers. ALAM’s supply chain needs to run smoothly and efficiently to ensure a profit, mitigate risks, ensure timely processing of records, outlining clear data-driven decision making thus requiring the supply chain analyst as an essential role.
Analysts use data to support their recommendations for optimizing the methods within ALAM in terms of production, supplies, and transportation. This will report to the Project Manager who will oversee and direct the daily activities of the analyst. HQ NJ is the preferred location for this role.
The SC Data Analyst - Project Support Specialist is expected to work closely with finance,
operations, supply chain, planning and quality functions in operations as well as the various product management teams to ensure company metrics and data are gathered, validated and analyzed in alignment with the project goals.
He or she is expected to participate in different project meetings to assist in developing operational activities, report on project milestones and assist in the development and reporting of project performance to management and the select steering committees.

Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Analyst Roles & Responsibilities
? Be the contact point for multiple SC related projects
? Interact, under the guidance of the Project Manager, with project team members globally within ALAM and strategic suppliers from outside of the company for projects
? Plan and carry out large-scale projects
? Assess ALAM’s processes and inventory, then use that data to suggest improvements in efficiency and reduce costs
? Monitor and collect data on current operations, including scheduling, sourcing, warehousing, production, accounts payable, and delivery
? Gather data on each step within the supply chain, using it to recommend changes to reduce costs, reduce risks, improve cycle times, improve communication flow and align key performance indicators
? Research necessary best practices

Day-to-Day Duties
? Investigate pain points within the process and use data to develop solutions to resolve conflicts and inefficiencies
? Create performance reports for management to review
? Communicate with other departments within the organization to identify efficiency issues, develop solutions, and implement changes
? Maintain a friendly and professional relationship with all team members while promoting company initiatives and values

Education Requirements
? Bachelor’s degree in business management, operations, logistics, or a similar field

Basic Requirements
? Prior project management experience
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Demonstrated influencing skills to work cross functionally in a matrix environment
? Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
? Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capability
? Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
(Or Google suite equivalent)
? Strong SAP system experience
? Experience with value stream mapping
? Ability to travel 15% to visit vendors and operating sites

Preferred Qualifications
? MBA with focus in supply chain
? Supply chain management certification is preferred (APICS CPIM or equivalent)
? Experience in the specialty chemicals industry
? Experience in or supporting the electronics industry
? Experience with hazardous materials domestic and international logistics
? Lean Six Sigma certification
? Experience with supplier quality management systems

Sitting for long periods of time. Occupation requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hours/day)

Working Conditions
Planning Individuals usually sit for long periods and sometimes must content to noise levels caused by various office machines. Travel to site locations is mandatory and can involve walking through shipping ports, inspecting shipping containers and working in a warehouse environment as required. These workers are susceptible to repetitive strain injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, neck and back injuries, and eyestrain. Due to the nature of the work,
and dealing with different types of people on time restraints can be stimulating and demanding.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. Travel to site locations is mandatory and can involve walking through shipping ports, inspecting shipping containers and working in a warehouse environment as required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Eastern Time, 40 hours per week; however, some work shifts or overtime during busy periods.

Travel is minimal, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience
? B.S. degree or equivalent experience/education combination.
? Minimum of 7-10 years of related experience.
