Buyer / Huntsville

We are currently looking for a Buyer located in Huntsville, TX for our client. This will be a 6 month contract with a Global Oilfield Service Provider. Must have 3-5 years experience in purchasing in the oil & gas industry (raw materials and turnkey), and proficient in SAP type applications (JDE preferred).

Must have an understanding of raw material purchasing and regular turnkey purchasing is also preferred
Ø Must have an understanding of MRP and be able to process messages
Ø JDE related experience or similar software like SAP
Ø Be able to process invoices for their purchase parts
Ø Evaluate proposals, negotiate lowest total cost and maintain optimum quality and scheduling to ensure purchase orders come in on time
Ø Follow up with vendors and keep dates accurate in the system
Ø Requires 3-5 years of purchasing experience preferred in oil and gas
Ø Product knowledge and local vendor base knowledge preferred
