The valued client is seeking a Sr Project Manager of Logistics / Materials and Warehousing for an initial yearlong contract around Surrey, BC area. The schedule for this role would be 21/7 or 10/4 or 5/2 for anyone local

In this role as Project Manager, Logistics, you’ll oversee the Project Logistics components (Pipeline, Tunnel, and Facilities of a major new project

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of Camp, line pipe stockpile management, and equipment and materials warehousing.
  • Plan, supporting tasks, and commissioning of facilities.
  • Managing and delivering tasks on budget and schedule.
  • Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with supporting departments, promote a continuous improvement mind set
  • Assume responsibility for the Workforce Lodge/Camp
  • Work with distributing and inspecting material
  • Facilitating with internal departments and external vendors for materials
  • Develop a pipe stockpile management plan and contracting strategy.
  • Procuring materials for construction.
  • Develop Facilities materials and equipment management plan and contracting strategy.
  • Manage the Workforce Lodge contractor including camp design, set-up and operations
  • Establish a pipe stockpile site, contract services, and receipt of the line pipe order
  • Establish warehouse and inventory control and materials management systems to start receipt of Facilities materials and equipment orders
Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Minimum 10 – 15  years of relevant experience in a senior role, with demonstrated increased levels of responsibility
  • Exceptional communication skills across all levels of the organization including external Stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the industry
  • Experience with SAP is an asset for the role.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
  • Previous experience with international shipping
  • A strong safety mindset for construction and operations
