The client has a well-established UK and Ireland energy storage advisory team and are seeking an ENergy Storage Consultant to grow this team further.
We are looking for an energy storage consultant with a technical background and prior industry experience, in preferably both the technical and market aspects of storage projects. The candidate is required to have the technical expertise to work on, lead and manage energy a variety of storage projects including both grid scale stationary energy storage and Electric Vehicles. Typical projects the UK and Ireland energy team conduct include business case modelling, technical advisory, running procurement processes, technical due diligence, Owner’s Engineering and providing operational project support.
The role will be based in the UK, from either London, Bristol, Glasgow, or Dublin, however there will be opportunities to work on energy projects globally.

Main duties will include but are not limited to:
- Executing energy storage related projects, including:
- Technical due diligence
- Procurement support, preparation of tender documentation, Employer’s Requirements, contract negotiations
- Owner’s Engineering support, design reviews and site visits construction monitoring and witnessing of commissioning and testing
- Energy storage training for customers
- Project management
- Preparing proposals to win new projects
- Meeting new customers and presenting services professionally
- Building strong relationships with external customers - gathering and following through new leads to clear proposals and contractual agreement
- Extending your external network and finding project opportunities
- Tracking and responding to new industry/market developments
- Building an internal network to gain and share knowledge and opportunities
Position Qualifications
Requirements:
- Engineering or technical degree qualification – preferably electrical engineering
- Knowledge and understanding of energy storage systems and electric vehicles and applications prospects/trends
- Project development or EPC and O&M experience with energy storage and/or renewables
- Knowledge of UK transmission & distribution networks
- Experience and expertise in the UK energy market and the role that energy storage can play in the market
- Good understanding of the commercial basis for projects
- Strong competence in proposal & report writing, ensuring clear and accurate reports are produced
- Strong communication, interpersonal, relationship and stakeholder management skills. Ability to handle the complex (technical) problems and be able to guide individuals through the associated
- Experience of building long-term client relationships
- Ability to juggle and manage conflicting work priorities to ensure deadlines are met
- Able to co-operate well with others; shares knowledge, experience and information; and supports others in pursuit of team goals
Desirable qualifications include:
- CEng status or working towards this qualification
- Experience of working for a consultancy firm
- Experience of contributing to industry working groups and related networking activities
- Experience in grid scale energy storage technologies other than batteries
- Experience of presenting at industry events
