The client, a large Oil & Gas midstream company, is currently seeking a Cost Estimator, based out of Calgary AB. This is a camp-based role with work operations in BC and candidates can be based at other locations but must report to head office in Calgary at times (preferred to live in Calgary or Edmonton or Vancouver) This is a long term contractor scheduled to start sometime June and end May 31, 2023 ( possibility for extension). The schedule is a 21 days on and 7 days off and 10  - 12 hour days, plus camp bonus $75 (these positions are for Section 8 WP3 - cost reimbursable).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Responsible for auditing labor and equipment Critical requirements -  the candidate is expected to work closely with inspectors responsible for inspecting quality and safety of the job and to ensure alignment with our TC requirement responsible for progress inspection responsible to audit the equipment whether working or not or on standby.
  • Reports directly to the Project Controls Manager Portion of the audit responsibilities are focused on quantities and equipment , labor the candidate would be responsible to communicate with planners - job progress received from the scheduler job progress is received from the scheduler, responsible for reviewing, auditing 100% of the role is at camp along with reporting to the office
  • Create Field Audit Reports (VCP) Audit manpower and equipment in field and log results in Audit Log Lead Progress review meetings
  • Coordinate with CMT on any targeted Audit needs Verify quantity progress data in field from previous days reports Input progress data into the daily report
  • Report inconsistencies to PC Lead & PMT Coordinate LEM findings vs Field Audits Work with field inspectors to understand and accurately report data
  • Coordinate with contractors when discrepancies are discovered and reconcile data Coordinate thrice-weekly soft quantity validation meetings with contractor and weekly hard validation meeting.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have pipeline experience, ideally 10 years plus
  • ENG degree or CET designation
  • The candidate should have mechanical work knowledge NDE bending types need to have project controls acumen and understand how relationship works on a Project
  • The candidate should have knowledge of schedules and cost - need to have labor and equipment audit experience the candidate should have Microsoft app knowledge - excel teams
  • Valid drivers license and 3-5 drivers abstract
  • Mechanical work knowledge: Weld Type, Coating type, Bending Type, NDE/NDT, Weld Transition, etc)
  • Project Control acumen
  • SPI / CPI knowledge
  • P6 / Tilos familiarity
  •  Labor and equipment audit experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Apps working experience: Excel (Pivot Table, Power Query, VlookUp, XlookUp, etc) , MS Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive Online.
  • Driving on FSR roads and Radio Communication protocol. (Must Call signs, Up/Down right of Way
  • PQS certification
  • PMP designation
  • API 1169 certification
  • Data Management, Data Visualization, Data Transformation experience
