Electrical Project Engineer – Permanent – Based Portlethen, Aberdeen

Our client, a leading business within the oil & gas drilling & well services market, is currently seeking to hire an Electrical Project Engineer on a permanent basis to be based at their site in Portlethen.

Job description :

Our client is currently recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer with strong project experience and ideally with applied, in the field experience. As part of our Engineering Team, you will be tasked with supporting our Portable Power product lines.

You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and other Engineering & Operations Support Engineers to turn customer-driven requirements into profitable solutions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Actively promote HSE and ensure the highest standards of HSE is maintained irrespective of location of work.
• Ability to comprehend project specifications and assist with design and assembly while ensuring compliance.
• Provide sketches to allow draughtsperson to create electrical/instrumentation drawings and to review upon creation.
• Ensure documents are created as per any specific client MDRL and submitted and recorded accordingly.
• Ensure all electrical product information, drawings, documents are effectively managed utilising Teamcenter.
• Respond to client’s technical queries.
• Manage sub-contract work & suppliers effectively, ensuring all deliverables comply with stated requirements.
• Assist as necessary with equipment testing and interacting with clients Inspectors.
• Provide technical support to company operation personnel, predominantly through the Engineering Support request system.
• To engage in any other activity within his / her capability as requested by line management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Qualified to Degree Level or similar in Electrical Engineering or suitable relevant experience (Essential)
• CompEx (Desirable)
• Valid offshore certificates (Desirable)

EXPERIENCE:

• Working knowledge within Electrical Engineering and Project experience (Essential)
• Experience of Solids Control, Cuttings Containment, Thermal Treatment, Power Generation Packages (Desirable)
• Relevant offshore experience (Desirable)

SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

• Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) (Essential)
• Experience of multi generator load synchronisation (Desirable)
• Deep Sea control systems (Desirable)
• PLC programming skills (Desirable)
• JDE/Teamcenter (Desirable)
