Job Purpose
Accountable for the safe operation of lifting equipment in Company and Company Supply Authority.
Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities)
- The Senior Lifting Equipment Engineer will be appointed as the Technical Authority for all offshore and onshore lifting equipment. This includes cranes (pedestal, king post, rental and overhead type) and all other mechanical handling aids.
- Point of contact for technical design queries and for coordinating access to further specialist engineering advice as and when required.
- Supporting inspection, maintenance, defects and troubleshooting as required.
- Regular review of Company’s Lifting Operations Standards and update as required.
- Build and maintain excellent client and vendor relationships and ensure that all service standards are met.
- Act on behalf of the Company, making full use of lifting technical expertise, when required. Identify any possible lifting equipment improvement opportunities and advise on realization and implementation of those opportunities.
- Maintain the highest level of quality control in line with continued Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Operations.
- Manage the ‘Offshore’ Crane Replacement / Major Overhaul Projects end to end. This will include all aspects from preparation of a business case through to installation / commissioning.
- Ensure that Load Radius Charts are updated and appropriate for individual cranes.
- Review, modify and approve Lifting Plans prepared by rigging specialists and approve third party rigging plans for complex lifts. Plan and arrange all work related activities in a safe, effective, timely and efficient manner.
- Prepare dispensations to allow safe lifting of items that cannot be lifted under the usual Company lifting practices.
- Identify and update safety critical elements associated with lifting equipment in conjunction with the Asset Integrity team.
- Support activities related to Maintenance Strategy and Performance Standard, when required.
- Travel offshore as and when the job requires including staying multiple days if operationally required.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical / Structural Engineering.
- 10+ years’ experience of supporting crane operations and lifting equipment care within a Production and Maintenance Operation, preferable in an offshore or other remote location.
- Extensive experience with offshore pedestal cranes is essential.
- Experience in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) would be an advantage.
- Strong communication and influencing skill.
- Embrace and operate within a dynamic, operationally-focused environment.
- Ability to operate / integrate across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills.
- Certifications for offshore travel
