The O&G Client company is currently seeking an Intermediate Community Investment Advisor, based out of Quarry Park, Calgary AB office. This is a long term 1 year contract role, with potential for extension, subject to start mid May 2022.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Our client is seeking a contract community investment advisor to join their public & government affairs (P&GA) team. This position will report to the client company’s community investment (CI) manager and support activities related to partnership donations, sponsorship, workforce volunteerism and event management. This role will also involve administrative activities related to financial transactions and cost stewardship. The successful candidate will be a strong performer in a collaborative and supportive work environment and be comfortable with a busy work load in a small, but mighty team! Communications generalist experience would be an asset.
As a community investment advisor, you will:
- Contribute to the client company’s community investment strategy and tactical execution to drive shared value for Imperial and for our operating communities across Canada
- Work with the community investment manager to maintain and build external stakeholder relationships including CI partners, peer networks and other stakeholder groups
- Manage the client company’s ImpACT employee giving and volunteer program
- Be a single point of advisory contact for field site community relations leads providing regular guidance and support for strategy and execution
- Provide advisory support to corporate community initiatives (e.g. corporate challenge, United Way, retail business)
- Complete monthly administrative tasks associated with CI responsibilities and transactions on the Benevity giving platform and as part of internal payment processes (could be up to 25% of time)
- Support budget management, identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and prioritize highest value activities
- Collaborate with communications team to profile investments/story tell with key audiences (internal/external)
- Collaborate with Indigenous relations team to identify and support Indigenous partnerships and relationship building
- Research and stay current on new and emerging community investment trends (e.g. employee engagement, volunteerism, performance measurement)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Digital and social-media savvy
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Creative, bringing recommendations forward with direct tie to P&GA and corporate priorities
- Proactive, while demonstrating sound judgment
- Solutions oriented with ability to see opportunities for collaboration with extended team members to increase return on investment
- General interest and passion for CI work and understanding of its business value
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Five to eight years of related work experience
