The Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) Squad is an agile multidisciplinary team who are accountable for delivery of the ESP Transformation Strategy and ESP life cycle performance.

The Role
The ESP Squad Subsurface Leader will be a major contributor to the delivery of the ESP Strategy and will make a significant contribution to the performance of the multibillion-dollar business.
Besides being a subsurface technical authority on ESP, this role will also lead the modernization of ESP data and processes. Working in a multidisciplinary squad, this role will design and implement the organisational processes and tools required to enable the use of ESPs to grow in an efficient and scalable manner.
A big challenge in this role will be implementing the changes necessary to allow the ESP fleet to grow, whilst enabling the business to continue delivering throughout.
The role reports to the ESP Squad Leader, who is accountable for the full ESP life cycle performance and reports to the Senior Operations Manager.
Key Accountabilities
• Lead delivery in modernising the ESP tools and processes to enable organisational expansion
• A strong advocate of safety and integrity – lead by example in HSSE.
• Reduce reliance on manual entry by integrating ESP datasets with new tools and processes
• Play an active role in the Opportunity Management process to reduce the time between ESP Failures and Replacement ESP on-line
• Support local ESP Lead Engineers in troubleshooting complex ESP issues
• Actively participate in ESP Failure Analysis and consolidate DIFA reports to provide insights into trends impacting the business
• Lead the organisation in reducing ESP downhole failures and minimizing wells with downhole ESP Issues
• Analyse ESP failure and reliability data and use statistical methods to construct reliability and failure forecasts
Who are you & Qualifications
• An influential leader with a track record of delivering transformational changes within large organisations.
• MSc in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in Subsurface Oil and Gas with experience across ESP Lifecycle
• Expertise in ESP downhole and surface hardware including design, installation, operations troubleshooting and failure analysis.
• Track record of, and strong advocate for, developing local workforce
• Ability to use industry software (Prosper, SubPUMP) for design and review of ESP performance
• Experience in modernization of organisational data-sets, database design, visualisation tools, Machine Learning algorithms is strongly beneficial
• Experience in flow assurance challenges and solutions beneficial
