Higher education in relevant field
Diploma or higher in Business, Law or Supply Chain Management is desirable
At least 10 years of experience in contracts development, administration and closeout related role in the Oil & Gas industry.
Technical/major capital project experience desirable.
English (level 3+ and higher) – Kazakh and/or Russian is also an advantage
Previous experience with supply chain management software applications. Proficient with most Microsoft Office based applications and shared document management systems.
Required skills and experience:
• Experience working in Kazakhstan is preferred
• Experience with major international EPC contractors
• Experience managing a multi-currency, unit rate contract structure in an international environment
• Experience with managing and mentoring national employees
• Experience working in company with international construction contractors is considered a significant advantage
• The ability to work well under pressure with strong problem-solving skills
• Good project management, organization, communication and listening skills
• Confidence in dealing with people and working in large teams
• Report writing and presentation skills. Deliver formal presentations.
• Knowledge of contracting software applications
• A commitment to continuous professional development
• Formulate the work group’s plan of actions according to set priorities
• Make balanced decisions based on assessment of situation and considering the consequences
• Use feedback for improvement of own performance
• Facilitate teamwork by setting an example (behavior, communication)
• Write and speak in clear and persuasive manner, using corresponding arguments, style and language
• Effectively communicate with a multinational workforce and promote a productive culture
• Facilitate and lead contractor weekly/monthly progress review meetings, if required
Must be familiar with:
• Major Capital Project Contracting Policies and Procedures
• EPC/EPCI/EPCm, both Unit Rates based and Time and Materials based Contracts Planning, development and Administration
• Contracts Change Management
• Contract Claims Management
• Contracts Closeout
• Working in a multi-cultural workplace/project with multi-disciplined teams
• Occupational Safety regulations and practices
• Basics of Labor Code
• Basics of Economics
• Labor Management
