As Development Project Director, you will be responsible for the development of solar-powered generation projects from the project identification stage through financial closing and start of construction.

  1. Develop from scratch new opportunities, prospective projects with suitable solar resource, electric transmission access, and site characteristics for the company in Europe
  2. Identify greenfield sites across Europe and be the one responsible for negotiating contracts, land acquisitions and site purchasing.
  3. Oversee the construction stage of the project, ensuring the high quality of the quality.
  4. Efficiently coordinate with several other departments in the company over multiple projects
  5. Create and manage project development budgets and estimates
  6. Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders, including elected officials, regulators, utilities, RTOs, and community leaders, to support project development
  7. Negotiation and manage of Developer´s Contracts
  8. Work with internal resources, such as the Legal, Engineering, Project Finance and EPC teams
  9. Obtain land surface rights to design, permit, construct, operate, and maintain solar power projects
  10. Manage state, federal, and regional permitting of solar facilities
  11. Participate in interconnection agreement negotiations
  12. Manage environmental studies
  13. Oversee the preparation of proposals that are submitted to utilities
  14. Support the financial analysis and modeling of the project
  15. Provide reports to management by producing regular and frequent pipeline updates, project status updates, and other reporting documents
  16. Research energy market and competition on an ongoing basis
  17. Communicate information continuously and effectively to cross-functional team

Qualification Criteria

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Laws, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  2. 5 to 10 years of progressively responsible project management experience in the energy industry.
  3. Team player with effective communication skills.
  4. Pro-active, hands-on and driven.
  5. Previous experience in a multi-cultural environment preferred.
  6. English fluency required. Spanish mother tongue.
  7. Must be willing and able to travel, both domestically and internationally.
  8. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  9. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  10. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  11. High attention to detail.
  12. Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  13. Capable of working productively with limited supervision.
  14. Ability to multi-task.
  15. Strong interest in environmental issues and renewable energy.
  16. Ability and willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
  17. Analytical and quantitative skills.
  18. Demonstrated project management skills.
  19. Ability to quickly come up to speed on the basics of a variety of subjects relating to solar energy, including solar studies, environmental and cultural studies, transmission issues, public relations, public policy, sales, and civil and electrical engineering.

Language capabilities: Spanish and English

Location: Spain (Madrid, Seville preference but negotiable)

Salary Package: 80,000 TO 110,000 euros (depending on experience)
