On behalf of the Major Oil and Gas Operator client, we are excited to recruit a Construction Supervisor to support a Construction Project.

This role would be imperative in ensuring all construction aspects of the project are conducted in a safe manner. 

Located in Perth CBD, Monday-Friday with occassional travel to site.

Key responsibilities:

• Ultimately responsible for delivery of an on-cost, on-schedule, on-safety metrics Phase 4 Construction Project that can be handed to Pre-Ops for commissioning and then Phase 5 for Operations.
• Work with Projects Teams in Phase 2 and Phase 3 to ensure constructability simplicity and do-ability.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and oversight of tactical decisions and objectives for safety, schedule, cost and quality for all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & commissioning construction activities within the specific portfolio in supporting the delivery of the approved 30-day look-ahead schedule.
• Identify & coordinate all interfaces with other disciplines, contractors and operations in the day-to-day execution of the work to ensure best for Project decision in face of competing priorities and maximum compliance with the 30-day look-ahead schedule.
• In association with the Construction superintendent & discipline construction lead, expedite all necessary design and/or engineering solutions and responses, procurement, quality, systems completion and the like to facilitate the effective transition and compliance of the works to the operating phase.
• Commit to and support the implementation of a safe working environment for everyone on the project and the continuing establishment of an Incident Free Operations (IFO) culture.
• Promote a positive HSEQ culture by active participation in the development, implementation and engagement of the company’s Health, Environmental Protection, Safety and Quarantine policies and procedures.
• Liaise directly with contractors on HSEQ behaviours and culture to improve overall performance.
• Provide the necessary support to the Construction Superintendent and Construction teams on Barrow Island, and interfaces with the discipline leads providing the necessary feedback by way of contractor performance, issues that might impede contractor’s progress, any competing priorities for resources, materials, lay-down, access and the like.
• Support the timing and sequence of works within areas to facilitate optimal resource levelling of the execution contractors.
• Ensure all construction controls are effectively implemented and address any issues with management team.
• Accountable for maintaining & sustaining a highly committed team using Capital Stewardship and High Reliability Organisational principles. Supervises and influences contractor personnel.
• Commit to and champion the development and implementation of a safe working environment for everyone on the project and the continuing establishment of an incident and injury free culture
• Commitment to health, environment and safety and best practices
 

Key skills and experience required:

• With 10+ years site construction experience
• With 5+ years as a Construction Coordinator in the appropriate disciplines
• Competent in the use of common computer systems and software
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and a keen understanding of construction management, sequencing and methodologies.
• Good knowledge of construction is preferable and experience in dealing / interfacing with Contractors.
• Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
• Previous Gorgon / BWI experience is desired.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results
