Contract: Junior Accountant / Australia

The Oil and Gas Client in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join them for a 12-month contract.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially savvy accountant to join an exciting project-based Oil & Gas team.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assure proper accountancy handling
• Achieve control and management of contractual clauses
• Guarantee the notice of takings and achieve payments
• Guarantee the reconciliation of open issues
• Complete the proper intercompany reconciliation
• Assure the calculation and entry of provision for bad debts and write off irrecoverable debts

Skills and Experience ideally required:

• 1-5 years’ experience in an Accountant role.
• General knowledge and understanding of Accounting fundamentals and standards.
• General knowledge of taxation systems and applicable legislation including GST.
• Knowledge and skills in computerised accounting systems, in particular Microsoft Excel, Power BI and record management systems.
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use initiative, judgement and flexibility within a team environment.
• Well-developed numeracy, computer literacy, and analytical skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail is required.
• Tertiary qualification in Business/Commerce or similar.
• CA or CPA qualification (or intent of working towards).
