Our client is seeking a Contract Analyst for a yearlong contract located in Calgary, AB.

In this role you provide market information, analytics, insight, and execution support for a corporate services portfolio consisting of Corporate Travel, Communications, Public Affairs, Corporate Security, Treasury, Research and Development and Records Management. On the IS side the role provides similar competency and capacity for IS professional services, and software agreement management.

Performs general source to pay sourcing assignments that will support developing knowledge of negotiation, contract development, and execution and post contract award management.  The role provides development opportunities in spend analytics, market analysis and strategy work leading to sourcing options and recommended go to market strategy. Duties include handling supplier qualifications, master data updates, purchase order value changes and RFP setup and preparation.  A key focus is on implementing the category management and supplier relationship management (SRM) concepts and supporting tools and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying and compiling internal demand needs;
  • Help developing should cost modelling and understanding of industry specification benchmarks;
  • Support development of category execution strategies;
  • Maintain contract records in SAP and CMS, ensuring governance requirements are met at all times;
  • Develop, issue and manage tender documents (RFPs, RFQ, RFIs, etc.);
  • Negotiate contract commercial terms, ensuring they meet requirements of internal stakeholders (i.e., risk, legal, project management, etc.)
  • Administer contracts including issuance, negotiation and approval of change orders, RFI's, etc.;
  • Lead proposal analyses and proposal commercial evaluations;
  • Coordinate overall RFP evaluations with project clients;
  • Facilitate cross-functional team engagement during contract competitive sourcing, formation, administration and negotiation;
  • Support administration of categories contracts in the Contract Management System;
  • Support development and administration of category reporting dashboard;
  • Manage contract amendment process and Terms and Conditions improvement;
  • Responsible for contract documentation and archiving process and post contract award management activities.
Qualifications

  • A University Degree and/or designation in Business, or a Supply Chain Management program;
  • Minimum 3 years of Supply Chain Management, experience,
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience with relevant SAP/Ariba/PowerBI modules an asset;
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; able to distill concepts and make them compelling; gain buy-in from executive-level stakeholders;
  • Aptitude for technical topics, i.e., when sourcing a technical material or service, candidate is naturally interested in learning technical details of the material/service; experience with terms and conditions;
  • Demonstrates credible project management skills including stakeholder, timeline, and meeting management.
