The client is currently recruiting for the position of Project Engineer/Pipelay CVR, based Offshore. This role is starting October for up to 1 year.

The CVR will have the following direct responsibilities:
* (Project Engineering competency) Providing expert input to contractors installation procedures, mobilisation plans and vessel operating and procedures
* (Project Engineering competency) Providing expert input and support to risk assessments, identification of hazards and implementation of mitigation measures to reduce risk to ALARP
* (Project Engineering competency) Ensure that the requirements of client and contractors readiness processes are satisfied
* Assuring vessel capability to complete the offshore works and supporting vessel readiness
* Leading the offshore input to assuring all personnel, equipment, procedures and permits are in place to undertake the offshore work-scope
* Managing all client & vendor representatives on-board the offshore construction vessel
* Proactively building and maintaining an exemplary safety culture on-board the construction vessel
* Assuring the offshore work-scope is completed in accordance with the approved installation procedures and permits
* Assuring the MOC process is rigorously adhered to for all proposed plan & procedure changes
* Be accountable for providing the Oversight necessary to ensure that contractor Self-verification of procedure and CoW compliance is sufficient
* Offshore management of contractor project execution performance and scope delivery
* Accurately recording and reporting any non-conformances and expediting all appropriate detail for onshore assessment
* Managing communication with the onshore team and the marine operations team to ensure rigorous tracking of safety performance, schedule progress and SIMOPS planning
* Assuring the quality and accuracy of the vessel daily report (DPR)
* Issuing all formal site instructions / directions to the contractor on behalf of the client
* Assuring the contractor has received and reviewed vessel / worksite bridging documents
* Providing the client focus for any incident or emergency and subsequent investigation on the construction vessel
* Ensuring that formal risk assessments, safety meetings, emergency drills and regular work site meetings are conducted to safely perform the works scope.
* Assuring contractor awareness, comprehension and compliance with client & contractor practices, policies and procedures in particular verification that contractor manages maximum periods offshore and working conditions are maintained for operational personnel.
* Responsible for oversight of project completion report compilation on offshore worksite

Experience/Attributes/Technical Skills (Required)
* Significant experience of general offshore construction with considerable offshore pipelay experience working on either S-Lay, J-Lay or Reel Lay vessels
* A sound understanding of pipelay vessel systems and mission equipment, including the assurance of those systems.
* Experience with site management activities related to health, safety, and environmental issues
* Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong bias for performance management
* Must possess demonstratable pipelay background with substantial knowledge of methods engineering aspects
* Must be able to demonstrate pipe fabrication competency with strong practitioner's experience (manual/automatic welding, AUT, field joint coatings)
* Must have working level knowledge of commissioning/completion activities (mechanical completions, static/dynamic commissioning, etc.)
* Familiar with managing offshore contracts (e.g. Weather, Downtime, Safety and Quality management)

Experience/Attributes/Technical Skills (Desirable)
* An engineering degree or professional qualification relevant to pipe-lay vessel operation (e.g. welding and/or NDT)
* Experience with vessel conversion or new-build vessel construction
* Experience with J- Lay and specifically with friction clamps
* Possess experience working within an Owners organization as well as experience working with a global installation contractor
* Experience working in West Africa and/or experience working in frontier areas
* Strong influencer who is adept at setting a strategic vision and linking with tactical goals
