The Role:
Role: Construction Planner & Scheduler
Contract: 6 Months
Location: Rotterdam
Schedule: Rotational (7 days p/week on 2 or 3 week rotation)

The Construction Planning Scheduling Engineer will be responsible for a comprehensive schedule control system, including day-to-day planning activities and the oversight of contractors schedules in the overall project schedule. Projects may range in size from small repairs to new field developments. The position is on a rotational basis with a seven day work week. Typical schedule is a two or three week rotation.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilizing the project planning and scheduling controls strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both client and contractor roles and responsibilities and adhering to the segment financial, business and project processes, the Construction Planning Scheduling Engineers duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Work with Project Team to prepare and implement project-wide work breakdown structure (WBS) / cost breakdown structure (CBS);
- Ensure the preparation and development of appropriate detail and summary project control schedule activities;
- Ability to implement and monitor schedules for entire project through construction completion;
- Ensure project schedule has been setup to capture appropriate Earned Value measurements;
- Give input to Project Team on schedule impacts and schedule improvement options. This should include critical path analysis, float path analysis and resource loading;
- Provide schedule input to and implement schedule element of the change management procedure;
- Provide schedule input to and implement the schedule element of risk management plan as requested;
- Validate project-wide progress measurement and reporting system, including roll-up levels, section weightings and reporting cycle calendar;
- Develop and issue various project reports to appropriate stakeholders and offer any insight to the project;

DELIVERABLES: Work deliverables are items deemed necessary to manage and control project work. These deliverables will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare and analysis of weekly schedule and deliver to the Project Management Team;
- Prepare monthly SPU summary schedule of each project;
- Prepare the monthly One-page Executive Summary of each Project;
- SPU required reporting deliverables on an as requested basis;
- Submit Continuous Improvements suggestions as the need arises;
- Any direction as given by the Construction Planning Scheduling Lead;

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE: To be considered for the role of Construction Planning Scheduling Engineer, applicants must have the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- 5 years of Construction Project experience or equivalent; In addition to the required qualifications, the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Field Experience (any craft);
- Alaska North Slope Experience;
- Ability to read P&IDs and Isometric Drawings;
- Proficiency in P3e/c;

SKILLS/BEHAVIOURS: To be considered for the role of Construction Planning Scheduling Engineer, applicants must have the following skills and behaviours:
- Ability to work well with entire Project Team;
- Strong interpersonal skills, skilled in dealing with people along with the ability to lead meetings;
- Self-Motivated;
- Enjoy taking on new challenges and responsibilities;
- Willingness and ability to work 7 days a week on a rotational basis in remote locations;
- Ability to travel to the field for frequent site visits and job walk downs;
- Strong computer skills with ability to navigate & learn various software databases to learn and utilize new skills;
- English fluency;

ANY OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION: The candidate is required to interact with a wide variety of individuals in a team environment to achieve successful completion of the construction project.

The Company:
The client has one of the largest refineries in Europe with a large FCC and corresponding high gasoline yield. It is a medium complex plant.
