The client are currently on the lookout for an experienced Company Secretary to join a global leader in the Resources sector. This is a 6 month engagement ideally starting in November.
In this role you will be undertaking a variety of activities including close engagement with the Board, investors, team members throughout Australia, regulatory bodies and partners.
You will be ensuring the Company complies with corporate governance and obligations under the Corporations Act and ASIC requirements, as well as the company's regulatory and statutory reporting requirements. The position ensures the Board of Directors, management and employees are following the rules and regulations of that Company governance policies, procedures and systems are followed and effectively managed. In addition, the role will drive continuous improvements in corporate governance and best practice in the Company secretarial function.
To be successful ideally you will have:
Minimum 5 years' experience with expertise in managing company secretarial responsibilities, corporate governance and compliance practices.
In depth working knowledge of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), ASX Listing Rules, ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations
Legal qualifications are desirable but not a must
Experience dealing with investors
Ability to manage multiple projects, perform under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
Being able to successfully work with multiple senior stakeholders internally and externally
Professional communication skills
Attention to detail and self- motivated always looking at making improvements while creating solutions to day-to day challenges
