Highways Team Leader (Urban Transport/ BRT) - Tanzania

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking an experienced Highways Team Leader to provide project management support to Ministry of Transport Tanzania of for implementation of a major urban transport scheme including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) elements. The Team Leader shall be leading ongoing projects while also providing expertise in future programs.

Opportunity:

My client is a leading European consultancy firm who are requiring this expert as a matter of urgency. The successful individual shall be joining the project at an early stage and play a key role in its success.

Over the 3 year duration you shall be working closely with the ministry and stakeholders based in Dar El Salam with some travel.

Responsibilities on the project:

The Team Leader will lead to activities liaising and coordinating with the Client & International team members while being seconded to the Ministry.

The Team Leader & team shall identify and resolves technical queries to avoid or mitigate implementation delays, cost overruns, poor quality of studies, designs and works, unmitigated environmental impacts, claims, reports for the financing Institutions.

The successful individual shall be required to implement mechanisms such as Project Management and Control System to plan and monitor the progress of the Project, and provide day to day guidance and progress reporting.

Key requirements for the role:

• Professionally registered qualified Civil Engineer
• Master's Degree in highway engineering or related subject
• 20 years of international professional experience in designing and/or supervising urban transport projects
• Experience of working with the development partners.
• Regional experience
