Key responsibilities

• Oversee the development of an H&S inspection plan, which aligns to the WW Audits & Inspections Plan including scheduling and resource allocation, and ensure strict adherence to it
• Lead and undertake H&S inspection fieldwork (accommodation inspections, site welfare) to monitor compliance with the WW Standards
• Lead and undertake follow up H&S inspections and oversee timely implementation of rectification plans by Contractors and Subcontractors
• Elevate major H&S non-compliances to the WW Executive Director
• Furnish memos on a timely basis to external regulatory bodies (e.g. Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour & Social Affairs – MOADLSA), or internal departments (e.g. Technical Delivery Office or Legal & Compliance) for enforcement actions against major H&S non-compliances

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Minimum 20 years of experience in H&S related roles with at least 10 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Experience in implementation of holistic H&S programs for large scale projects preferably in the construction industry
• Experience in handling H&S at multiple locations
• Knowledge of language(s) spoken by blue-collar workers is desirable (English, Arabic, Tagalog, Hindi, Malayalam, Nepalese, Urdu)
• Experience in stakeholder engagement including strong links with relevant government H&S bodies and private sector organizations
• Excellent knowledge of the local, regional, and international regulatory policy issues and emerging policies related to H&S, and affecting large-scale development projects is an advantage
• Knowledge of the HR Law and Labor Law in the State of Qatar
• Experience of working in the region and knowledge of local culture
• An excellent leader and team player
• A positive attitude, patience, and persistence, especially when dealing with various internal and external stakeholders

Education and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required in a relevant field (H&S)
• Post graduate degree is desirable 
• Valid Qatar drivers’ licence
• Computing skills 
• Experience and skills
