Job Role / Responsibilities

Working as part of the Asia Pacific Business Unit, the Construction Project Manager is responsible to lead the team and coordinate the project, site and installation activities in order safely install and commission wind turbines on schedule and within budget.

Overall Health and Safety responsible for Construction scope on project

Responsible to lead the Zero Harm programme and creation of a safe working environment for the Construction scope. Lead by example regarding all standards / procedures. CNS PM must ensure compliance with all parties regarding issues, alarm the pertinent authorities and manager/ client / principal contractor in the event of emergencies, accidents or major violations of regulations. Ensure adequate supervision of the daily work on-site to ensure its smooth functioning, ensure sufficient training for personnel at site to perform the work in compliance with standards. Lead general assemblies at regular intervals and ensure issues are on the agenda of project meetings.

Plan, manage and coordinate the project, site and installation activities

Coordinate with the Program Director/ Manager and other functions including Sales, Operations, Logistics, Health and Safety, Quality and Service in order to plan the construction related activities on a project

Responsible for organising the site setup

Responsible for setup with CNS Resource Planner on the overall site organisation including commissioning (e.g. organisation chart), site administration setup and general site facilities such as offices. It is the responsibility of the CNS PM to lead the team and ensure the team implement a communication culture by ensuring meetings are conducted. Has the overall responsibility for Construction related communication on the project, both internally to Program Director/ Manager, at site and to back office, authorities, subcontractors etc. Ensure correct setup to gather information e.g. "as-built- documentation, site reporting, Quality, Health and safety etc.

Management of installation subcontractors/suppliers

Support Program Director and Purchasing in the selection of suppliers to execute the installation scope. Overall responsibility for the management of installation subcontractors and suppliers during execution of projects. Support Construction function in the development of future installation subcontractors and third party resource suppliers

Ensure commercial control of the project

Must conduct financial control on the project e.g. budgets for subcontractors, tools and cranes etc.).

Preparations and submission of claims

Ensure site management document potential claims for projects. Submit claims to subcontractors or to Program Director for client as applicable.

Training

Training of client and/or subcontractor on installation manual of wind turbine if required

Requirements

    • Qualification in relevant field
    • Experience in wind industry is mandatory
    • Minimum 5 years site or project management experience in relevant field
    • Experience in managing and leading teams and work with subcontractors and clients.
    • Experience with working in a multicultural environment.
    • Knowledge in people and project management methods and techniques, commercial management.
    • Documented management experience.
    • Excellent IT skills including MS Office/Share Point
    • Good communication skills is essential, both verbally and written.
  • Fluent in English (spoken/written) and Chinese
  • Experience in project scheduling an advantage.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent with solid technical competencies is preferred.
  • Holds driving license
  • In good physical health; Ability to travel, will to work at wind farm field for longer time (China and/ or abroad).
