Contract: Project Engineer / Canada

Location: Edmonton, Canada
The client, a large Oil and Gas operator, is currently seeking a Project Engineer for a contract role in Edmonton. The individual must be local.

This position is directly accountable for activities associated with the planning, coordination, execution and management of the Company’s maintenance dig execution program, facility integrity projects and cathodic protection program.  Responsibilities include but not limited to: project resourcing, internal and external stakeholder management, supporting front end engineering and planning (scope development, cost estimating, scheduling, execution strategies, and contracting strategies), project controls, compliance, execution, project management, and project close-out.


  • A Professional Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of engineering, construction and project management experience directly related to Pipeline Maintenance Projects or equivalent.
  • Must be currently registered with a Professional Engineering Association in Canada.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects involving Pipeline Operations with a complex stakeholder structure.
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritize work continuously on a day to day basis.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with provincial, federal and international standards and specifications applicable to pipeline maintenance program in Canada. Thorough understanding of safety standards, technical specifications, code of business conduct, core values and future business objectives is a must.
  • Experience in coordinating project logistics that involve various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast and dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently while using his/her time in the most effective way.
  • Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with internal & external stakeholders and peers.
  • Well- developed problem solving, decision-making, organization, planning and leadership skills.
