The client is seeking an experienced Document Controller/Specialist in Ingleside, TX. The primary function of the Document Controller/Specialist is the quality of Document Control products and services to project teams and compliance with project excellence.

* This role will be accountable for the implementation of existing document control specifications
* This role will be accountable for tracking contractor and vendor deliverables throughout the project lifecycle (recording revisions, revision purposes, distribution and transmittal histories)
* This role will be accountable for the reliability, irretrievability and traceability of the project data
* Process incoming and outgoing correspondence in a timely manner
* Assist with the maintenance of the COMPANY distribution matrix
* Assist with the document management system administration
* Ensuring that each applicable metadata field is accurately updated and maintained in each Master Deliverables Register
* Preparing and implementing squad checking documentation in accordance with procedure and distribution matrices
* Alignment with the Document Control standards and ensuring any deviations due to project-specific needs are controlled and traceable
* Providing back-up document control support as needed on other projects
* Conduct training sessions for project personnel and 3rd parties on the use of Chevron tools and processes
* Manage security using tools to control access to information
* Conduct security reviews for SharePoint and DMS to keep in compliance
* Serve as an SME to participate in process development and improvement across various functions and entities
* Provide input into the development of project information management specifications
* Document and maintain workflows and processes in use on the project
* Conduct User Acceptance Testing for applications and provide feedback to developers for design and/or configuration changes
* Support Concurrent Engineering process
* Support project closeout activities such as dispositioning, archiving and transitioning documents to Operations
* Assemble Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs) and equipment vendor data books
* Generate discrepancy and closeout reports for the engineering function to resolve with third parties
* Provide status tracking and expediting of all internal document reviews in accordance of contract requirements
* Provide level 1 support for troubleshooting standard MS Office applications and Document Management Systems (Adobe, MS office, SharePoint and eDMS)
* Participates in standard business and technical information technology solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions

* 5+ years direct experience working in a technical or engineering environment
* 3+ years of Information Management/Document Control experience on Major Capital Projects
* Thorough understanding of document control best practices and procedures
* Intermediate to expert proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel 2007, SharePoint and eDMS
* Experience with, and comprehension of, deliverables management (revision control, deliverables registers, squad checking and libraries
* Experience with, and comprehension of, transmittals and correspondence management
* Ability to converse and convey ideas, facts and issues clearly, accurately, coherently and professionally to a diverse project team
* Experience with processing and assembling vendor data (documents and data books)
* Presentation and training experience preferred
* Ability to use appropriate tools to analyze, identify, and resolve business and/or technical problems

-Local candidates preferred, but open to candidates from Texas. (**travel/relocation expenses will not be covered)
