Job description
My client, a leading Contractor operating across Asia, is currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to assist with the management of contracts and claims for a large rail contract in Malaysia. This position is based in South Malaysia, near to Singapore and will offer a local package ideally to locally based candidates.
Responsibilities:
*Commercial management and strategy for major civil projects
*Working with Management team to handle Client and Sub Contractor engagement
*Liaison with project controls, finance, legal, construction, engineering departments both within the Project structure, and home offices of joint venture partners.
*Responsible for commercial and claim reporting, claim preparation, change management, reviewing and drafting client correspondence, internal and client reporting.
*Provide commercial, contractual and claims advice to Project Directors, and project teams
*Oversight of legal, claims, contract administration, and change management personnel and third-party consultants
*Ensure compliance with contract obligations, including current health and safety regulations
*Claim preparation, defence and strategy.
*Implementation and managing of commercial policies and procedures across projects.
*Overseeing, managing, directing and supporting the project commercial teams to ensure optimisation of project returns.
Experience / Qualification
*Minimum 10 years of relevant experience within Civil works/Construction
*Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
*Preferably speak Malay
The role will be working on a major, live project with a number of years remaining and will be paying in the region of 20-25k Malaysian Ringgit on a local contract. This will be a 6 day week and will offer experience on one of the regions largest contracts with huge potential to progress and succeed.
