Contract: Instrument Engineer / Malaysia

Duration:Contract - 1 year

The Role:
= To direct and coordinate all project C&I engineering issues related to equipment specification, procurement, and installation design, such as: Preparation of specifications, Selection of suppliers, Review of vendor data, Testing, Maintenance of the Instrument database, Liaison with other disciplines on packages, Support to site during installation and commissioning
= To monitor the progress of Instrumentation engineering documents through the computerised Document Management System (eDMS)
= To ensure that all relevant SIs and Departmental Working Instructions are correctly followed in the engineering phase
+ To check specifications and drawings
+ To ensure that the Safety Management System and Quality Assurance requirements are followed throughout the engineering phase
+ To examine and find solutions for complex Instrumentation engineering challenges
+ To discuss the project deliverables with Engineering Project Managers and to ensure their timely and cost-effective execution
+ To visit suppliers and monitor their activities
+ To evaluate bids and documentation from suppliers
+ To keep abreast of relevant developments in Instrumentation engineering with respect to the offshore industry in general and the Company's business in particular
+ To attend training courses, seminars etc. when required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
University degree (Master/PhD) in a relevant discipline, or with 5 years engineering experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.

Job requirements
Be familiar with the requirements for Distributed Control systems. Emergency Safety Systems, Fire and Gas Systems. Metering standards, Fieldbus technology, I EC61508/61511 implementation.
