Senior Highway/Pavement Specialist - Uzbekistan

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking an experienced Highways Pavement Specialist for an on-going project ADB in Uzbekistan.

Opportunity:

The client is a leading consultancy who has successfully untaken numerous projects around the region. Following the development/ design phase the project is moving in to construction supervision this individual is need urgently. You would be working as the lead consultancy of a team consisting of numerous expatriate engineers.

The assignment is to start immediately and run for approximately 7-8 months

Responsibilities:

• The Engineer will provide technical expertise and support for all matters relating to the road upgrading and pavement design and construction supervision services.
• The Engineer shall also be familiar with checking Pavement & Materials as follows: -
  • General subgrade construction and material specification
  • Asphalt paving, construction depth and material specification
  • Pavement design review and update
  • Borrow pits and source materials
• The Engineer shall also manage, lead and coordinate and lead the Project Team on project related activities.
• Assist the PM with the Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports and lead the delivery of Project Outputs in Accordance with Contract delivery schedule
• Training, Mentoring and Guidance to local Staff.
• Coordination of the Project team to ensure that the detail design and specifications are correctly and consistently implemented on all the road sections included in the project.
• Provide leadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with all those involved in the project, particularly with the Client.
• Advise on the status of cost versus budget, the progress of the work and other key issues.

Key requirements for the role:

• Minimum12 years experience in pavement design and supervision, especially in cement concrete design and construction for roads.
• He/she will review the concrete pavement design, advise the CRE on the material quality and specifications, concrete mixing methodology, concrete additives, safety protection, laboratory and-field material tests for quality control, field equipment, and cement concrete placing and calibration of equipment.
• He/she will advise the field teams in the using of cement concrete and certifying construction in accordance with contract conditions.
• He/she will also,

(i)maintain records and assist the EA with the day-to-day coordination and supervision of Project 1,

(ii) coordinate and review updated designs and cost estimates prepared by the design consultants, and coordinate and supervise the work of field teams in supervising and certifying construction in accordance with contract conditions.

Language:

Fluency in English writing and communication

Salary Package:

The salary package on offer is around $8-10,000 tax free as well as a full expatriate package including Flights, accommodation etc.
