This position reports to the Project Controls Specialist. The Cost Analyst will assist the Project Services Team in day to day cost control, change management and reporting activities.
Primary Functions:
The following qualifications and competencies would be considered assets:
Primary Functions:
- Assist in activities involving cost stewardship (e.g. forecasting, budget impact assessment).
- Assist in preparation/ maintenance of weekly/ monthly cost reports.
- Assist in maintenance of cost control and change management systems/processes.
- Planning and structuring of meetings involving cost control & change management, maintenance of action Item logs and follow up with team members.
- Compilation and Maintenance of change log.
- Maintain project services filing structure.
- Co-ordination of cost control/ change management activities with project team members and Finance department.
The following qualifications and competencies would be considered assets:
- Undergraduate/Diploma level education.
- Minimum of 4 years cost analysis experienced preferred in a project environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of independencies of cost drivers.
- Affiliation from AACEI is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of operating MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
- Proficient in writing and compiling reports and data analysis.
- Experience in handling multi-facet role with dual reporting.
- Arranging and conducting meetings with participants in multiple locations, maintaining minutes of meetings, action item logs and agenda.
- Compilation and Maintenance of change log.
- Strong numerical analytical ability.
- Maintain project services filing structure
- Co-ordination of cost control/ change management activities with project team members and Finance department
- Exposure to project execution environment considered an asset.
- Experience in analysis of vendor invoice for construction/fabrication considered an asset.
- Knowledge of change management/cost control system used in industry considered an asset.
- Experience in working in fast paced oil and gas environment considered an asset.
- Strong presentation skills, ability to explain concepts concisely and accurately considered an asset.
- Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data considered an asset
