Planning Engineer required for one of the Oil & Gas clients based in Oman for their Commissioning Dept.

Position Description
- To prepare Planning and progress reports.
- Preparing and updating of relevant planning and scheduling procedures for approval.
- Independent progress verifications checks of performance of the various project elements as well as capturing projects risks impacts in the project cost & schedule.
- Reviewing and comment on all aspects of Contractor’s planning, scheduling and progress measurement in accordance with the agreed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) using Primavera planning software
- Performing independent assessments of delays to Deliverables, as and when necessary/required using critical path analysis (CPA)
- Verifying Contractor’s S-curves, Histograms planned and actual, by discipline, in order to monitor execution of project work scope.
- Work in line with the Project Controls Plan throughout the execution phase of the project.
- Assist the production of the Project Close Out, including Lessons Learned, report.
- Prepare Commissioning schedule
Experience and Qualifications
- Educated to HND or Degree level in Engineering or Project Management.
- Minimum 8 years experience in Planning and Project Management of Oil & Gas projects.
- Knowledge of Precommisisoing and Commissioning activities and sequence.
- Proficient user of the Primavera P6 planning and resource control package.
- Good analytical skills with good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Good reports writing skills.
- Ability to work with Management as well as in multi-disciplinary project engineering teams
- Preferable familiar with Exploration & production companies
