The client is seeking a Subsea Construction Engineer for a 12 month+ contract within London.
The Subsea Construction Engineer will be supporting delivery across our core execution lines, namely rigid pipelay, flexible and umbilical installation, light & heavy offshore construction. Key support and delivery elements may include, though not limited to oversight of Contractors development of tactical and strategic scoping essentials, participate/lead constructability and/or install-ability reviews, oversight of fundamental offshore installation analysis, support development of offshore installation manuals as well as corresponding participation in FAT, SIT and offshore execution activities.
Some travel will be required in this role to support various activities within region, as well as at our Contractor vendor sites prior to the offshore execution campaign. During offshore execution, the Subsea Construction Engineer will be responsible for critical packages which will require support on- board our Contractors installation vessels. This role is hugely exciting in that the selected candidate will have an opportunity to participate in a large, dynamic offshore program, with some of the world’s most highly advanced construction assets in support of a safe and predictable delivery of the project .
Essential Competencies
• Ongoing commitment to HSSE and Quality standards
• Experience in shallow and/or deepwater execution to include but not limited to Control Systems Installation (Hydraulic and Electrical Flying Leads), Structures Installation (Foundation Piles, Manifold Structures) as well as umbilical product installations (static/dynamic systems)
• Experience in managing offshore SIMOPs activities as well as experience in developing/supporting bespoke installation procedures and manuals
• Working knowledge of Subsea Systems operations
• Familiar with relevant industry standards (API/DnV/ISO)
• Familiar with stage gate processes
• Experienced offshore professional and open to assignments on-board our Contractor’s vessels as Project needs dictate
• Self-Motivator with a strong bias towards scope accountability
• Experience working with multi-discipline teams with a strong skill set in interface management
• Strong inclusive communicator who can listen and evaluate options, as well as engage in crucial conversations in an approachable and respectful manner
Desirable Criteria
• Experience with any of the following – fabrication and installation of rigid pipelines; flexible risers, heavy lift and jacket installations
• Basic/Intermediate understanding of welding and materials fundamentals (welding, pipe coatings, field joints, NDT)
• Experience with integrated testing regimes such as EFAT, integrated SIT’s
• Work experience within heavy fabrication yards
• International experience
