We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the Oil & Gas Industry. Our client is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Analyst for a 12-month contract in North York, Ontario.
Key Accountabilities:
- Quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for Enbridge Gas Inc. (EGI) under the federal Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) and provincial O. Reg. 390/18 (ON.20 and ON.350)
- Collection, quantification and tracking of air emissions data and calculation methodologies using Encompass - Releases and Emissions Module
- Local Administrator of Encompass - Releases and Emissions module. Responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the database, configuration of the data, user-acceptance-testing, supporting clients entering emissions data, validating emissions formulas, generating reports, and verifying the accuracy of data production
- Implementation of federal methane requirements (Regulations Respecting Reduction in the Release of Methane and Certain Volatile Organic Compounds - Upstream Oil and Gas Sector (SOR/2018-66)), including the development, implementation and sustainment of procedures to meet federal requirements at EGI Gas Storage facilities
- Completion of Federal National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) reporting; City of Toronto CHEMTrac air emissions reporting
- Support data collection for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) annual reporting and the Canadian Energy Partnership for Environmental Innovation (CEPEI) reporting
- Developing and sustaining environmental standards, programs and procedures for application throughout EGI
- Developing scopes of work and reviewing and interpreting environmental results/reports; applying knowledge and experience to provide sound environmental advice and recommendations to business
- Identifying opportunities for improvement within environmental programs; develop strategies and solutions to environmental matters and present recommendations to project teams for decision and implementation
- Participating in and leading meetings with internal/external stakeholders to discuss environmental projects, develop strategies for execution and supporting environmental compliance
- Preparing written communication (letters/reports) on environmental matters for stakeholders and regulators (e.g. Ontario Energy Board, Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks (MECP), etc.)
- Supporting EGI Distribution Operations with environmental inquiries as requested
- Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science and/or engineering;
- 5+ years applied, progressive environmental engineering/science experience in GHG emissions calculations and reporting
- Demonstrated understanding of applicable provincial and federal environmental legislation
- Experience with electronic database systems for managing GHG emissions data
- Experience developing, implementing, communicating and sustaining corporate environmental programs and procedures
- Excellent ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Actively participate, collaborate and support team work within environmental and project teams; build positive relationships
- Strong analytical skills, ability to apply objective and critical thought to managing and resolving environmental issues
- Highly organized, self-directed with the desire to contribute to a dynamic and face-paced work environment
