Contract: Wellsite Geologist / Sarawak
The Wellsite Geologist is the Operator's Representative to QC the various Formation Evaluation Services and to ensure that the Operator's requirements for data acquisition and reservoir evaluation from the well are met.
The Wellsite Geologist may have a variety of functions, depending upon the specific operation, location and formation evaluation programme required. Usually, ensuring data integrity and providing detailed reports from the wellsite to town. The reporting will be operator specific. It is envisaged that a specific job scope will be provided by the operator. This guide is to provide a general description of possible functions likely to be required.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Must have full working rights in Malaysia to be able to apply for the role
A degree in Geosciences, Geophysics or Geology.
An excellent understanding of mudlogging, LWD operations and acquisition, wireline logging operations and acquisition, drilling and upstream processes.
A thorough understanding of carbonate reservoir classification and evaluation techniques.
At least 6 months' experience in PMCD drilling operations and evaluation.
A minimum of 10 years wellsite experience with a minimum of 5 years of that as a wellsite geologist most of which should be offshore.
Must have previous experience in mudlogging, field services (LWD or Wireline Engineer) or with an Oil and Gas operator
Experience in PMCD operations is essential
Experience with Pore Pressure and Fracture Gradient prediction required
Experience in carbonate classification, interpretation and drilling operations is required
