SUMMARY

Project Engineer (PE) will provide support for planning, scheduling, and execution of Facility Siting program at the Kenai refinery. PE will integrate into a project team with primary focus on supporting project development and field execution.  Additionally, PE will interface project activities with refinery stakeholders to ensure project activities are planned and executed with highest regard for safety and quality. PE work schedule will be 9/80 or 4/10 on site, with some periods of extended hours as approved by the Project Manager. Project scopes are estimated in the range of $100K - $25MM Total Installed Cost (TIC). Duration of assignment is expected to extend through the end of 2Q20. Extension of assignment beyond 2Q20 will be at the mutual agreement of the Marathon and the Contractor.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project coordination
  • Assist with the development of Facility Siting master plan at the Kenai Refinery
  • Assist with the development of individual project scopes to address the needs of the Facility Siting Program
  • Support Refinery Stakeholders with determining project delivery methods for individual projects within the Facility Siting Program
  • Review plans and specifications for suitability of future use
  • Support project team in obtaining permits required for individual projects within the Facility Siting Program
  • Assist project stakeholders in change order management
  • Perform submittal review for projects; confirm that Contractors are providing adequate project documentation
  • Perform RFI review for projects; Confirm that Contractor and Design team are providing effective responses to RFIs; Inform project team of any RFIs that may result in cost and scope changes
  • Quality assurance including field inspection of work in place and verification of contractor quality program documentation
  • Interface projects with refinery stakeholder groups
  • Regular survey of Work In Place (WIP) for progress updates
  • Assure implementation of Kenai Refinery work practices for all aspects of field work
  • Interface projects with refinery stakeholder groups
  • Support refinery stakeholders in the development of Operations & Maintenance plans
  • Assist project team in project closeout
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside architectural/engineering firms to develop capital project Front End Loading (FEL) stage gate deliverables packages
  • Quality assurance of contract architectural/engineering work
  • Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed

EXPERIENCE

  • Familiar with OSHA PSM Management of change (MOC) process
  • Field engineering experience in a vertical construction role required
  • Field engineering experience developing buildings in refining or upstream Oil & Gas preferred
  • 10 years of experience in the construction industry required – including experience in design, preconstruction, and construction phases of projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering preferred
