The Client
We have recently engaged with a world leading supplier of Aerospace products and parts who’re searching for a Materials Engineer (Metallurgist) to undertake a large amount of material and laboratory tests as well as advising on material selection and material analysis.
The Role
As the Material Engineer (Metallurgist) you’ll be responsible for;
- metallographic specimen preparation
- microstructure evaluations
- mechanical testing (hardness, tensile)
- coatings (coverage, adhesion & thickness)
- FTIR analysis
- chemical composition analysis (e.g.SEM-EDX)
- pDSC testing
The Person
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Material Science or Metallurgy and have some Laboratory experience

The Client

The Role
As the Material Engineer (Metallurgist) you’ll be responsible for;
- The support of various manufacturing and engineering requests for materials analysis, metallographic preparation, evaluation of samples and operation of SEM to support customer requirements.
- Photo- documentation at both macro and micro levels.
- Calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory analytical instrumentation and metallographic preparation equipment.
- Execution of microhardness and hardness measurements and tensile tests.
- Creation and maintenance of work instructions.
- Administrative support for lab operations. Technical report writing.
- Recording and reporting of analysis results using Honeywell web-based LIMS software. Able to work independently with a high degree of compliance to commitments.
- Frequently communicates with customers and lab management.
