Pipeline Integrity Engineer / Scotland

We are seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer (Oil & Gas)  for a long term contract Role

Location: Aberdeen

Applicants MUST be an EU passport holder and be eligible to work within the UK

 

The Senior Pipeline Engineer has the following main areas of responsibility
Provision of technical support for pipelines, risers & flexibles  with primary focus on North Sea assets
Technical support to Subsea Intervention team, including offshore support, when required
Contract Holder for pipeline/riser storage contracts and the Integrity Management Database
Supervision of contractors providing integrity support to the asset pipelines, risers & flexibles

Activities

Ensure that pipelines, risers & flexibles are operated in compliance with the UK Legislative Pipelines Safety Regulations and Company Rules and General Specifications.
Assist the Pipeline & Riser TA in providing the Annual Pipeline Integrity Status report and presenting to the UK HSE. Assist the Pipeline & Riser TA in the preparation and maintenance to the Pipeline Emergency Repair Preparedness strategy and critical spares holding requirements for Pipelines.
Support interface with HSE on Pipeline & Flexible issues, as appropriate.
Liaise with external bodies, production partners and pipeline downstream operators, as appropriate.
Maintain the affiliate’s pipeline integrity database
Provide Pipeline Integrity Lead Engineer (PILE) necessary data for input into Affiliate's pipelines database.
Engage with PILE as required on pipeline integrity issues (e.g. corrosion, erosion, chemicals treatments, pigging, cathodic protection, heat-tracing, leak and shock detection system and environment).
Ensure that the pipelines have been and will continue to be operated within the design envelope.
In case of life extension or deviation from the design envelope, undertake a re-analysis to verify the change as part of the request for modification.
Collect and review pipeline monitoring, inspection & surveillance data.
Maintain inspection, monitoring and maintenance plans for the pipeline network.
Communicate to the Subsea Leader, Field Operations Manager, Technical Safety Manager, Pipeline & Riser TA and Pipeline Integrity Committee in HQ any integrity issues on the pipelines.
Ensure the incidents, anomalies, DGSs and integrity threats related to the pipeline network are identified and declared in Synergi and in the case of integrity threats, validated by the Technical Safety Manager.
Monitor pipeline performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for pipelines.
Compile the annual pipeline integrity report including the classification of each pipeline and its status.
Ensure that the Pipeline Integrity Management System software is up to date and able to deliver campaign scheduling, risk assessment, anomaly management & integrity status reporting for all operated pipelines.
Undertake pipeline integrity assessments to define future inspection philosophy.
 Create scopes of work for input into pipeline contracts. These contracts include, but are not limited to, intelligent pigging, pipeline plug isolation, operational pigging & pipeline engineering studies.
Support preparation of Intelligent Pigging plans
Carry out defect assessments on pipelines following discovery of pipeline defects to ensure safe continued operation.
Provide ongoing support to pipeline projects in the design, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases. Review intelligent pigging (and other inspection) reports to ensure compliance with good practice, to then prove the integrity of a pipeline system.
Provide operational input to pipeline related Development Engineering studies.
