Power System Studies Engineer - Qatar

My client is urgently seeking a power system engineer to be based in Qatar.

The position will be expected to provide expertise in the principal areas of Power Systems Analysis, Protective Device Coordination, Protective Relaying, Power Systems Design, Field Engineering. This position requires the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting all project deadlines and providing exemplary client service.

Degree educated, the successful candidate must a minimum of 10 years experience and knowledge with short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies. Technical disciplines include the following three areas:

* Protective Relaying: short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, arc flash analysis... Applicable software
* Power System Planning Studies: steady-state real and reactive power flow including outage contingencies, generation interconnect feasibility, P-V and Q-V analysis for voltage stability margins, dynamic stability performance… Applicable Software
* Infrastructure Design studies: substation grounding, corona and electric and magnetic fields, insulation coordination (lightning, switching surge, and contamination performance), transient simulation, power quality (harmonics, voltage flicker, over/under voltage, etc.), motor starting…Applicable Software

Candidate Requirements

* Ideally registered with recognized professional institution.
* Degree in Electrical Power System or equivalent qualification.
* The Power System Engineer shall have working experience of at-least 2 years in developing countries.
* Middle East Experience ideal
* Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
* Additional language skills in French would be advantageous.

Location: Qatar

Salary Package:

* 40,000 QAR/ 11,000 USD Per Month (All inclusive)
* Accommodation cost will need t be paid by the candidate, estimated (6000-9000 QAR monthly)
* Car Allowance, Travel t be provided by client.
