SENIOR MUD ENGINEER - KURDISTAN

An international E&P Operating Company looking to recruit a Senior Mud / Fluids Engineer, to work on their land drilling operations in Kurdistan.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
·Ensure drilling fluids services are delivered to the required standard and that drilling fluids programmes are developed in order to achieve optimum operational results.
·Recommend new drilling fluids technologies that will improve their operations.
·Identify, assess and control potential and actual drilling fluids hazards for each job.
·Ensure Mud Engineers are to the required competency standard.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
·Ensure engineering best practices for the planning and design of drilling fluids programs
·Develop and implement Basis of Design in conjunction with the Senior Drilling Engineers planning the upcoming operations.
·Update drilling Fluids standards as required
·Ensure contractor delivery to international standards by leading drilling fluids audits
·Ensure all mud engineers are competent to deliver operations to the required standard
·Provide direct technical operations support on drilling fluids issues to achieve the objectives of the wells safely and cost efficiently
·Prepare detailed drilling fluids program.
·Recommend new drilling fluids technologies that will improve company operations
·Identify, assess and control potential and actual drilling fluids hazards for each job.
·Action oriented, readily available to travel to the field on short notice in support of drilling fluids operations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·Degree in Engineering, at least 15 years' experience in relevant Drilling Fluids Engineering positions required
·Minimum 15 years in Drilling Fluids Engineering related areas
