We are looking for a Senior Engineer for our client based in the Sligo area.
This is a Permanent Role.
Main Responsibilities of the role
- Maintain records & documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures, validation
- To liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenance providers in maintaining trouble shooting, and installing/commissioning
- Coordinate the implementation of projects
- Ensure EHS Standards are met
- Manage and supervise external contractors
- Establish with managers the department goals, schedules and timetables
- Assist with the management and supporting of equipment development
- Develops monthly engineering metrics
- External, and internal audits
- Identification and implementation of equipment / cost improvement projects
- Issue management reports
- Management of relevant budgets within target
- Ensure Environmental procedures are adhered to / improvements made where possible
- Implementation of equipment/process upgrade in an environment of continuous improvement
- Effective management of appropriate internal and external plant projects
- Implementation of all relevant policies relating to
-Personnel
-Quality
-Engineering
-Safety
- Negotiate cost / quality effective external contracts
- Prepare appropriate CAPA plans and implement timelines
- Demonstrate leadership skills, ensuring compliance with all safety
- Provide direction and guidance to less experienced engineers
- An ability to work with all levels of Management
- Communication with peers and other departments
- Provide engineering technical
- Manage projects by developing a project schedule, tracking costs, preparing status reports, conducting team meetings, and communicating issues and progress to management
- Validation of equipment and processes. Generate validation documentation (URS, IQ, OQ, PQ and process characterization studies & validation reports) and assist in the execution of protocols for equipment & processes
- Design and development of tooling and fixtures
- Understand and comply with all the regulations governing the quality systems
Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Mechatronics or closely related discipline
- 2 years' experience in Engineering supervisory position and/ or 5 years' experience of operations in healthcare type industry
- Detailed functional knowledge required of wide range of equipment
- Management expertise and problem solving skills have been acquired
- Strong Technical Engineering knowledge
- Knowledge of Software packages such as project management, spreadsheets, word processing etc.
- Strong communication skills including ability to advise and influence
- Strong motivation and initiative required
- Knowledge of DOE and statistical analysis desirable
- Design and development of machinery desirable
- Root cause analysis, and equipment monitoring, improve performance e.g. reducing plant downtime
- Re-design elements of machinery to adapt to process conditions
