We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, a large Oil and Gas operator, is currently seeking a Marine Project Engineer for a contract ending in 2021.  The shift is Monday-Friday.

The Marine Project Engineer will assist the Contract Holder in delivering a new jetty extension (Terminal A Extension) to the client by the end of Q1 2021.

 

Accountabilities will include:

• Responsible for technical interface with Contractor, Client, and Designer to resolve technical issues, provide clarifications, manage TQ/TDs and design changes.

• Work with Engineering and Construction Managers to optimize construction processes.

 • Streamline approvals between Design Engineer and Construction Contractor.

• Engage with project controls to evaluate cost and schedule progress forecast vs actuals, with regular input to project risk register. 
 
• Ensure alignment between Construction, Engineering, and Quality to deliver Extension as per design and specifications.

• Evaluate contractual variations (change orders) and manage commercial impacts of technical issues.

• Review contractor method statements, MOC’s, technical memo’s and field implementation. 
 
 

Skills & Requirements:

• Professional Engineer with minimum 5 years experience in marine facility construction.

• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with complex interfaces across various stakeholders.

• Excellent communications and inter-personal / leadership skills are essential.

• Proven track record of delivering results in challenging project environments.

• Team player, acting as a champion to break new grounds and self motivated  
 

Work Location: Kitimat, BC 
 
Work Schedule: 10 Hours/Day, 5 Days/Week

• Temporary relocation or Fly-in Fly-out options available with accommodations provided.

• Contract Term Length: 1.5 years
