Commercial Manager - Steel Construction / England

ROLE: COMMERCIAL MANAGER

LOCATION: LONDON

We have been retained by one of our key clients to identify a Commercial Manager for their UK Steel Construction business.

They are looking to bring on board a confident and experienced Steel Commercial Manager to be based out of their London head office. They are looking to identify someone who has a proven track record working with leading main contractor within the UK civil engineering sector.

Purpose of the Job

The core purpose of the role is to optimise the margin on the project whilst protecting the business from commercial risk.

Management of a commercial team:

• Quantity surveying
• Supply chain management
• Contract administration
• Cost capture and control
• Reporting
• Liaise with the Employers commercial team
• Implement commercial procedures and reporting to ensure compliance with company and contract requirements
• Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues.

Required Desired Experience

MUST HAVE STEEL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE

Professionally qualified and accredited QS / Commercial Manager
Degree level education or equivalent with training and qualifications in a related discipline
Knowledge / Experience
Experience of managing a medium size team
Experience of working in a construction/rail environment within a contractors organisation
NEC Contract Experience Essential

* Senior Quantity surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor
