Batch 3 Safety Engineer / Qatar

Our client an Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Company is looking for a role of Batch 3 Safety Engineer, based in Qatar

ACTIVITIES

Promote & comply in all activities with applicable safety instructions and other CLIENT HSE procedures,Carry out work in compliance with CLIENT values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed CLIENT priorities and objectives, CLIENT standards and procedures and good industry practices,Follow-up of engineering development activities progress related to safety engineering systems by the contractors, the LLI and packages vendors (as applicable) for the Major Projects. The scope of activities will both concern green field (new development) as well as brownfield activities (on existing platforms). The activities include the review and comment of engineering and vendor documentation to ensure compliance with design dossier, safety concept, SOR, CLIENT specifications, Corporate standard and HSE regulation, international codes and classification society rules (when applicable),Supervise the engineering contractors in charge of carrying out the design engineering, including (but not limited to) HAZID, HAZOP, SIL determination, any safety studies, model layout development, safety engineering documentation development, etc.. in compliance with project specifications and procedures, CLIENT specifications, discipline requirements and international codes, with respect of cost, schedule and required level of quality and safety applicable to the projects,Supervise and promote cost-saving and weight saving solutions in the design, promote design alternatives to optimise schedule, ensure that the design is standardized across the various wellhead platforms,Check the technical quality of the engineering documents prepared by the Contractor(s) and his subcontractor(s) & vendors, provide comments in due time and approve via EDMS (PRODOM) the documentation promptly, in accordance with contract procedures and requirements,Check the incorporation of CLIENT comments by the Contractor(s) and his subcontractors / vendors in subsequent submissions,Review of other safety engineering documentations which are related to safety of personals and facilities such like (but not limited to) safety concept, hazardous area classifications, process PID, ESD logic diagrams, fire and gas cause and effect diagrams, hazardous area classification layouts, blast study, etc. Review of various safety-related studies which are performed by a third party / consultant to identify major hazards and to ensure that risk are managed to ALARP, such like HAZID, HAZOP, SIL determination, Fire Risk Analysis, Explosive Risk Analysis, Safety Critical Elements identification and performance standard, Escape evacuation Rescue analysis, Gas Dispersion and radiation analysis, etc...Follow-up recommendations and actions from various safety studies, through Contractor tracking register. Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on all engineering, constructability and operational matters during Feed & detailed design developments, typically 3D model development, safety layout reviews, etc… Treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality, Keep a pro-active attitude in front of future interlocutors (Contractors, vendors, etc…), Review and analyze the safety engineering design data of the existing facilities in view of the integration with the new wellhead platforms and associated process platform, Assist in preparing the various detailed scope of work for loss prevention safety engineering discipline covering for FEED and EPC, all in line with Pre-FEED and Statement of Requirements, Manage the technical interfaces with other disciplines for the preparation of loss prevention safety discipline scope of work,Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with Contractors, and in specific ad hoc meetings as required by management,Provide technical answers to technical queries and provide support in deviations requests related to loss prevention safety engineering issues, Request assistance from shareholder specialists (remote head office), when required,Participate and lead and animate as necessary with contractor the HAZID/ HAZOP/ SIL determination, Project Reviews sessions with CLIENT, Contractors and vendors teams and provide technical answers and clarifications,

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Qualification: Master degree in safety system engineering, preferably Loss Prevention,

Experience: 10 - 15 year experience in safety engineering field in Oil and Gas activities,

Offshore experience is preferred, Good knowledge of industry codes, standards and legislations on SSHE aspect,

Available for world-wide missions,Familiar with Total general specifications,Computer literate,

Strong leadership skills and good communication skills
